Hi there! I am Barbara-Jean (aka B.J.) Kennedy. I came into instructional design and training by way of marketing. After completing my undergraduate work, I began developing educational presentations on product lines and services for the Philadelphia Stock Exchange (now part of NASDAQ). That work stirred in me a passion for instruction that I never knew I had and set the direction for my career!
I spent the next 10 years working as an instructional designer and trainer for technology-based programs and initiatives in a variety of organizations – academic, corporate, utility and government. I approached each position as an opportunity to further refine my skills through building and delivering learning for adult audiences in every setting – classroom, online and independent learning. I completed my Masters in Educational Technology Leadership – an online program through George Washington University. That program connected me to international learning professionals in both academic and corporate environments who were on the same educational journey: to define learning solutions that met the need while exceeding expectations. The graduate experience – the program, the instructors, my fellow students and the work itself – provided the foundation for my business and continues to inspire me to grow.
When I’m not at my desk, I can be found hiking local trails and tending the gardens (we have many!) with my husband. I also enjoy sailing, camping, and spending time with family and friends.
